Paramabhattaraka (Sanskrit: परमभट्टारक) is an ancient Indian royal honorific meaning “supreme overlord” or “venerable sovereign.” The title was historically used by rulers to assert paramount authority and sovereignty over their territories and subordinate kings.[1]

The Abhira kings, who ruled parts of western and central India during the early centuries of the Common Era, prominently used the title Paramabhattaraka. It denoted their status as paramount sovereigns and emphasized their political, military, and cultural authority.[2]
