Nocardioides are a genus of aerobicbacteria (needs oxygen to survive) that is Gram-positive.[5] There are currently 49 species that have been correctly found that belong to the genus Nocardioides but more are still being discovered and the addition of other similar species are being discussed.[6] Nocardioides can be found in soils or in water from all over the world.[7]
History
H. Prauser proposed the new genus Nocardioides in 1976.
Applications
Some Nocardioides are able to produce antibiotics which are used in medicine and decontamination of regions. [8]
