National Highways, formerly Highways England, and, prior to that, the Highways Agency, is a company owned by the British government. It is in charge of looking after the motorways and large A-roads in England. They also have traffic officers who deal with incidents, such as car accidents, on the motorways. It replaced the Highways Agency in 2015.[2]
