NHL 25

NHL 25 is an ice hockey video game. It was published by EA Sports and was developed by EA Vancouver.[1] It is the 34th game in the NHL series.

NHL 25 is an ice hockey video game. It was published by EA Sports and was developed by EA Vancouver.[1] It is the 34th game in the NHL series.

It was released worldwide on October 4, 2024. It was released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.[2]

The game introduced a new gameplay system called ICE-Q, which affects the player and AI gameplay. More realistic faces were added along with the introduction of actual NHL coaches. NHL 25 also included the introduction of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). An arcade mode was also brought back and improvements were made to Franchise Mode.[3]

On August 22, 2024, it was announced that the Hughes brothers (Jack, Luke, and Quinn) were chosen as the cover athletes for the NHL 25 Deluxe Edition. Jack is on the cover for the standard edition and Quinn is on the cover for the standard edition cover in Canada and the rest of the world.[4]

Reception

The game received mixed and average reviews by game critics. Critics said that they liked the improvements to Franchise Mode and the more realistic models for the players. However, critics also felt that the series had gotten stale and that EA had not upgraded or changed many of the existing game modes that were in the game.[5][6]
