Montigny-lès-Metz is a city in northeast France. It is on the Moselle River, near Metz.
The habitants are called Montigniens.

Toponymy
Montigny comes from two latin words.
- Mons = mount, mountain, height
- Ignis = fire
So, the fire mountain, because the Gauls start up a fire on the St Quentin mont to correspond with the other villages.
