Michael Misa (born February 16, 2007) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre. He currently plays for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Misa played three seasons with the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He had a successful time with the Spirit. He finished his rookie season scoring 22 goals and recording 34 assists for 56 points in 45 regular season games. He also scored 3 goals and recorded 5 assists in 11 playoffs games. For his production, he was named to the CHL All-Rookie Team and OHL First All-Rookie Team.[1][2] He helped the Spirit during the next season's playoffs. They competed in the Memorial Cup tournament which they hosted that year. The Spirit defeated the London Knights 3-2 in the final game to win the first Memorial Cup in Spirit franchise history.[3] He finished the next season by scoring 62 goals and recording 72 assists for 134 points in 65 regular season games. He also scored 2 goals and recorded 1 assist in the playoffs. He was awarded the CHL Top Scorer Award, the Red Tilson Trophy for being the OHL's most valuable player, and the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy for being the OHL's top point scorer.[4][5][6] He was also named to the CHL First All-Star Team.[7] On January 8, 2025, the Spirit announced Misa as their next captain.[8]

He was drafted 2nd overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2025 NHL entry draft.[9] On September 10, 2025, Misa signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Sharks.[10]

On October 14, 2025, Misa made his NHL debut in a 5–1 loss against the Carolina Hurricanes.[11] On October 21, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Adam Gaudette goal in a 4–3 loss against the New York Islanders.[12] On October 26, Misa scored his first NHL goal against Jesper Wallstedt in a 6–5 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild.[13]
