Michael Carcone

Michael Carcone (born May 19, 1996) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He currently plays for the Utah Mammoth of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Michael Carcone (born May 19, 1996) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He currently plays for the Utah Mammoth of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the Arizona Coyotes.

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Carcone played five seasons with the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

He was not drafted by an NHL team. On July 16, 2016, Carcone signed a two-year, $675,000 entry-level contract to join the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL).[1] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Utica Comets. He never played a game for the Canucks.

On December 3, 2018, the Canucks traded Carcone to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Josh Leivo.[2] He never played a game with the Leafs and only played for their AHL-affiliate Toronto Marlies.

On July 1, 2019, the Leafs traded Carcone along with Connor Brown and Nikita Zaitsev to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Cody Ceci, Ben Harpur, Aaron Luchuk, and a 2020 third-round draft pick.[3] On July 15, Carcone signed a two-year contract to stay with the Senators.[4] He never played a game for Ottawa and only played for their AHL-affiliate Belleville Senators.

On December 21, 2020, the Senators traded Carcone to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Zach Magwood.[5] He was going to play for their AHL-affiliate Milwaukee Admirals but the league shutdown because of COVID-19.

On July 29, 2021, Carcone signed a two-year contract to join the Arizona Coyotes.[6] On December 28, the Coyotes called him up and Carcone made his NHL debut in a 8–7 shootout loss against the San Jose Sharks.[7] On March 25, 2022, Carcone scored his first NHL goal against Jacob Markström in a 4–2 loss against the Calgary Flames.[8] On June 21, 2023, Carcone signed a two-year, $1.55 million contract to stay with the Coyotes.[9] After the Coyotes franchise was suspended, Carcone and the rest of the roster were transferred to the new expansion team Utah Hockey Club.
