Mason Marchment (born June 18, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He currently plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Dallas Stars, and Seattle Kraken.
Career
Before playing in the NHL, Marchment played one season with the Erie Otters, one season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, and one season with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
He was not drafted by an NHL team. On March 17, 2018, Marchment signed a two-year, $1.85 million entry-level contract to join the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL).[1] He was sent down to play for their AHL and ECHL-affiliates Toronto Marlies and Orlando Solar Bears.
On January 2, 2020, the Leafs called him up and Marchment made his NHL debut in a 6–3 win against the Winnipeg Jets.[2] On January 6, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Frédérik Gauthier goal in a 6–4 loss against the Edmonton Oilers.[3]
On February 19, 2020, the Leafs traded Marchment to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Denis Malgin.[4] On March 4, 2021, Marchment scored his first NHL goal against Pekka Rinne in a 5–4 win against the Nashville Predators.[5] He played parts of two seasons with the Panthers.
On July 13, 2022, Marchment signed a four-year, $18 million contract to join the Dallas Stars.[6] He played parts of three seasons with the Stars.
On June 19, 2025, the Stars traded Marchment to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for 2025 fourth-round draft pick and a 2026 third-round draft pick.[7] He played 29 regular season games with the Kraken, scoring 4 goals and recording 9 assists for 13 points.
On December 20, 2025, the Kraken traded Marchment to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for 2027 fourth-round draft pick and the New York Rangers' 2026 third-round draft pick which the Jackets held.[8]
Personal life
Marchment's father Bryan Marchment and cousin Kennedy Marchment are also professional hockey players. Bryan played 18 seasons in the NHL. Kennedy plays for the Montreal Victoire of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).[9] Bryan died on July 6, 2022.[10]
