Lisa Demuth (/ˈdeɪməθ/ DAY-məth;[1] born February 10, 1967)[2] is an American politician who has been the speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2025. She is a member the Republican Party. She has been a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2019.[3][4] She is the first Black person to become speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives.[5] Demuth is also the Republican nominee for Governor of Minnesota in the 2026 election.[6]
