Laura Elizabeth Loomer (born May 21, 1993) is an American far-right political activist, conspiracy theorist, and internet personality.[1][2][3][4] She is known for hosting Loomer Unleashed and for her social media activity. She is also known as a supporter of President Donald Trump during his 2024 campaign and his second presidency.[5]

Early life and education

Laura Elizabeth Loomer was born in Tucson, Arizona on May 21, 1993.[6][7] She is Jewish.[8][9] She studied at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, but left after one semester. She transferred to Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, and graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.[10][11]

Career

Loomer has worked as an activist for several organizations, including Project Veritas, the Geller Report, Rebel News, and InfoWars. She calls herself a "pro-white nationalist" and a "proud Islamophobe".[12][13][14] She currently hosts a show, Loomer Unleashed, streaming weekly on Rumble.

Loomer is known for being banned on many social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and formerly Twitter (now X.[15] She was banned because her posts were seen as hate speech and misinformation.[16][17][18]

In 2024, Loomer sued Bill Maher and HBO for defamation after Maher said that she and Trump were having an extramarital affair.[19] A federal judge dismissed the lawsuit in April 2026.[20][21]

Politics

Loomer was the Republican Party nominee to represent Florida's 21st congressional district in the 2020, and lost to the Democratic Party candidate Lois Frankel.[22][23] She ran in the Republican primary for Florida's 11th congressional district in 2022, but lost to U.S. Representative Daniel Webster.[24]

In April 2023, then-former President Donald Trump wanted to hire Loomer for his presidential campaign, but his senior campaign advisors said he should not because she was controversial.[24][25] By September 2024, some Trump supporters and others were worried about Loomer's closeness to Trump.[26][27]

Trump administration

During the second Trump presidency, Loomer became very influential in the administration. She used her social media to call on Trump to fire government officials she saw as not loyal to Trump.[5]

Personal life

Loomer became engaged to her boyfriend in 2025. The engagement was announced by President Donald Trump at the White House Christmas party.[28]
