Lab RTVE, also known as «El Laboratorio de Innovación Audiovisual de RTVE» (RTVE's Audiovisual Innovation Lab), is a department that belongs to the Radio Televisión Española S.A. group. This department looks for creative and new ways to tell stories. Its goal is to innovate, entertain, and inform.[1]

History

RTVE's "Audiovisual Innovation Lab" was created in 2011. Its aim is to explore new ways of telling stories made only for the internet. It is made up of a mixed team of journalists, designers, producers, and web developers.

Since it started, Lab RTVE has worked on dozens of projects linked to data journalism, graphics, and interactive reports. It has won several awards in the field, including a number of Lovie Awards, given out by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. More recently, it won one gold and two bronze awards at the "ÑH2019 journalism design awards".[2]
