In Shinto Kunitsukami (国つ神,[1] 国津神[2]) are gods (kami) of the Earth.[3] Unlike the Amatsukami (heavenly gods) they live on the Earth (tsuchi)[4] instead of in heaven.
Many myths in the Nihon Shoki and the Kojiki are about Amatsukami and Kunitsukami fighting.[5]
