Kani Nkshon Shorter Jr. (born August 2, 2005), known professionally as Kanii (formerly Kaniio), is an American singer-songwriter and rapper.[1] Kanii rose to prominence with his 2023 song "I Know".[2] The song later peaked at number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100, and he received a gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[3] Later, the same year, Kanii then released his debut extended play (EP) Exiit (2023), marking his first appearance on the Billboard Top Dance Albums, charted peaking at number 10.[4][5] [6][7]

He first embarked his career, starting in the year 2018, with the release of his song "So Long", on SoundCloud. In August 2022, Kanii then released "Attachment (She Wanna Love)", which gained traction onto TikTok. Kanii was widely known from his two song "Go (Xtayalive 2)" and "Heart Racing", on November 2023, and it appeared at Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic—charting singles, leading Kanii releasing his second EP It Was Nice Knowing U.[8][9][10]
