Josh Matthew Fryday[1][2] (born February 8, 1981) is an American attorney, politician, and former U.S. Navy officer. He served as chief service officer of California under governor Gavin Newsom since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served on the Novato city council from 2015 to 2019, including as mayor in 2018.

Fryday was a candidate for lieutenant governor of California in the 2026 election.[3]
