Indium phosphide is a chemical compound made of indium and phosphorus. It has the chemical formula InP. It is a III-V semiconductor with a similar crystal structure to gallium arsenide.
Indium phosphide is often mixed with gallium phosphide to make the ternary compound indium gallium phosphide, InGaP.
Solar cells based on indium phosphide are stronger against damage from radiation than cells based on silicon or gallium arsenide.[1]
