Hussein Aljunied (1943 – 5 March 2016), also called Habib,[1] was a Singaporean footballer and manager. As a footballer, he played for for Singapore, and was their captain in 1971.[2] As a manager, he notably coached Singapore and Brunei during the 1980s and 1990s.[3]

In March 2016, he had reportedly been warded at the Singapore General Hospital, while suffering from a severe lung illness because of pneumonia, kidney failure and a weak heart.[4] He died on 5 March 2016, at the age of 73.[5] Prayers were held at Sultan Mosque, where several football figures attended.[6]
