Global Warming Potential, or GWP is a measurment used to measure how potent of a Greenhouse gas something is. For example, Carbon DIoxide would have a GWP of 1, according to GHG Protocol. There is not one GWP, there are different versions, including AR4, AR5, and the most recent AR6. The greenhouse gas with the highest GWP is Sulfur Hexaflouride, with a GWP of 25,200, making it thousands of times more harmful to the environment then CO2. Luckily, Sulfur Hexaflouride is not nearly as common as greenhouse gases like CO2 or Methane. [1]
