Gillian Flynn (born 1971) is an American writer. Her first novel, Sharp Objects, was published in 2006. It is being made into a movie.[4] In 2009 she was fired from her job as a writer for Entertainment Weekly.[5] Dark Places, Flynn's second novel, was published May 2009. It is a mystery novel. In June 2012, Gone Girl was published. It is about a serial killer in Missouri. In 2013, it was nominated for the 2014 Impac Dublin International Literary Award.[6]
She was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She lives in Ukrainian Village, Chicago with her husband and two children.
