Formal science is a branch of science that studies systems using logical rules. The fields of formal science include mathematics, logic, systems theory, theoretical linguistics, theoretical computer science, and more. All of these sciences study abstract systems. The systems may not exist in reality. To find results in a formal science, you need rules called axioms, which you assume to be true. Reasoning in formal science can be perfectly accurate, unlike in other sciences, because the results follow from the axioms and reasoning.[1]
