The East Rail Line is one of the 10 lines of the MTR system in Hong Kong. It starts from the boundary from Shenzhen and ends at Admiralty station on Hong Kong Island. It started its services in 1910 run by the government of British Hong Kong, until it went under the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) in 1982. It then became part of the MTR after the two companies merged together in 2007.[4] It currently has 16 stations, including Racecourse station, which only runs during racing days, and takes around 45-50 minutes to travel through the entire line.[5][6]
