The company was created in 1912 under the name Dominion Foundries and Steel by Clifton and Frank A. Sherman after building a factory in Hamilton, Ontario.[1] IT was later changed to ArcelorMittal Dofasco after it was purchased by the Luxembourg-based Arcelor company on January 24, 2006.[2]
