Dev Joshi (born 28 November 2000) is an Indian actor. He is best known for playing Baalveer in the Baalveer TV series. He has acted in over 20 Gujarati films and many advertisements.[1] He also played the young Chandra Shekhar Azad in the TV show Chandrashekhar.

Early life

Dev Joshi was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, to Dushyant Joshi and Devangna Joshi.[2][3] He studied Political Science at L.D. Arts College, Ahmedabad.[4]

Career

Dev Joshi started acting as a child in stage shows, theatre, ads, and Gujarati films. His first Hindi TV role was Young Shukra in Mahima Shani Dev Ki (2009–2010). He also played Young Shaurya in Kashi - Ab Na Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora (2010).

In 2012, he got his big break as Baalveer in Baalveer on Sony SAB.[5] The show was very popular. After it ended in 2016, he played young Chandra Shekhar Azad in Chandrashekhar (2018).

He returned as Baalveer in Baalveer Returns (2019–2021), Baalveer 3 (2023), and Baalveer 4 (2024). He also made guest appearances as Baalveer in shows like Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga and Kuch Smiles Ho Jayein With Alia.

Personal life

On 19 January 2025, Dev Joshi got engaged to Aarthi Kharel, a banker from Nepal.[6][7] They married on 25 February 2025.

Joshi loves space and was chosen in 2022 for the DearMoon project, a trip around the Moon with SpaceX. He would have been the youngest person and first Indian on the trip.[8][9] The project was canceled in 2024 because of delays.[10]
