Dagon

Dagon was a god worshipped in Ancient Syria, who was a very popular deity since a lot of people were named after him at the time. He was also worshipped in Mesopotamia, and was considered to have control over giving people divine rule. [1]

Character

While it is very difficult to know about Dagan since not many people made myths about him, we do know that Emar, Aleppo and Mari believed he was known as a "father of gods", and that he was generally one of the first Mesopotamian gods. [2] He was also known to guarantee a plentiful harvest of grain. [3]
