Chivito is a type of sandwich. It is made with a bun, sliced cooked ham and bacon, mozzarella, tomatoes, fried or hard-boiled eggs, lettuce, black or green olives and mayonnaise. It is served with French fries. It is the national dish of Uruguay. The sandwich was invented by Antonio Carbonaro at his restaurant called "El Mejillón Bar" in 1946.
