A child leash is a leash sometimes worn by children (especially toddlers) usually held by the parent or caregiver, often to prevent the wearer from running away or getting lost. Child leashes are usually related to and used by toddlers and preschool-aged children, although older children (such as adolescents) may wear them especially if they have psychological (or behavioral) disorders and special needs such as autism and ADHD. Many types of child leashes exist, although most are worn by children under the age of 18, and are usually held by the parent or caregiver. Child leashes are designed to prevent the wearer from running/getting lost or be separated in some way from the parent or caregiver.
