Cheyenne Rechsteiner is a Swiss wheel gymnast. She has won three world championship titles.[1]

Sport Life

She started wheel gymnastics after she watched the 2001 World Championships. She started her career at the club SATUS TV Birsfelden and later moved to SATUS Züri 12 and TV Liestal[2]

She won her first world champion title in 2015 in Lignano, Italy.[3]

In 2019 Rechsteiner stopped from competing for 5 years. She came back to sports in 2024. She trained in the US mostly without a coach.[1][4]

At her final World Championships in 2026 in Göttingen, Germany, she won a silver medal in spiral.[5] She stopped competing in 2026. She works as a coach in Liestal. [6]

Life

  • Rechsteiner works as an sports official. From 2022 to 2024, she was the Secretary General of the International Wheel Gymnastics Federation (IRV).[7]
  • She wrote a textbook called "gymWHEEL". It is a guide for gymnasts and coaches.[8]
  • She earned a doctorate (PhD) in biology at the University of Rochester.[9]
