In 2005, he was found guilty of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering after hiring a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, recorded a sex tape between the two, and sending the tape to his sister. He was sentenced to two years in jail. He later received a pardon by his son's father-in-law, President Donald Trump, on December 23, 2020.[5][6]
In November 2024, President-elect Trump nominated Kushner to be the U.S. Ambassador to France for his second term.[7]
