Lee Chae-ryeong (Hangul: 이채령; born June 5, 2001), better known as Chaeryeong, is a South Korean singer and dancer. She is a member of the girl group Itzy, which was formed by JYP Entertainment in 2019.

Early life

Chaeryeong was born on June 5, 2001, in Yongin, South Korea.[1] She is the younger sister of singer Lee Chaeyeon, who was in the girl group Iz*One.[2] She attended Hanlim Multi Art School and studied musical theater with Ryujin.[3]

Career

2013–2017: Before debut

Chaeryeong appeared on the TV show K-Pop Star with her sister.[4] They were both praised for their dancing skills, and later became trainees at JYP Entertainment.[5][6] She and her sister also joined the show Sixteen, which chose the members for the girl group Twice.[7][8] Chaeryeong appeared in the first episode of Stray Kids with Yeji, Ryujin, and Yuna, who later became her groupmates.[9]

2019–present: Itzy and solo activities

Chaeryeong debuted with Itzy in February 2019, with the release of their first single album, It'z Different, and the lead single "Dalla Dalla".[10] In 2023, she was featured on the song "Doremifasolatido" from Lee Chan-hyuk's album Umbrella.[11] Later, she released the music video for "Mine", her solo song from Itzy's EP Born to Be.[12] In 2024, her track "21" was released for the TV series Who Is She.[13]
