Catsuit is a tight, one-piece piece of clothing that covers the body and legs. It often also covers the arms. This outfit is usually made from stretchy material like leather, chiffon, latex or spandex, so it fits the body very closely. Catsuits usually have a zipper to close them, which can be on the front or the back.

Catsuits may also be transparent or completely opaque. Catsuits were worn as early as the 1940s. They can be worn by males or females. Despite their name, they do not have feline characteristics.

People wear them as a main piece of clothing, but not typically on the street. Some people consider catsuits to be fetish items.

Sometimes, people wore catsuits as fashion. In the 1960s to the 1990s, they were sometimes popular. In the 1970s and 1980s, people wore them for disco dancing and exercise. Around 1980, they were a short-lived trend for young people in the United Kingdom.

Athletes in sports wear similar clothes. They wear special tight suits called "unitards" for sports like, skiing, gymnastics, and cycling. These suits help them move better. Scuba divers wear similar wetsuits. Swimmers also used to wear similar suits for races.

The name "catsuit" started around 1955 maybe because the suit is sleek and smooth like a cat or maybe because the famous character Catwoman wore one.

Catsuits can be often seen in movies, TV shows, music videos, and games.
