Brandon Clarke (September 19, 1996 – May 11, 2026) was a Canadian-American professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Memphis Grizzlies from 2019 until 2025. He played college basketball for the San Jose State Spartans and Gonzaga Bulldogs. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2020.
On April 1, 2026, Clarke was arrested in Cross County, Arkansas for having over 200 grams of kratom and drug trafficking.[1] He was chased by police officers and drove over 100mph before being arrested.[2]
Clarke died on May 11, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 29.[3][4][5] His death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose.[3]
