Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu (born 29 March 1952) is a Nigerian politician who is the 16th and current President of Nigeria.[1] He was the governor of Lagos State .[2] He served as a senator for Lagos West in the Third Republic.
Biography
Tinubu was born on 29 March, 1952 in Osun State, Nigeria. He did his first school at St. John's Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos and Children's Home School in Ibadan. He studied at Richard J.Daley College in Chicago, Illinois, he was also at Chicago State University in 1975 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1979.[3]
On June 8, 2022, Tinubu won the presidential primary of the ruling All Progressive Congress scoring 1271, to defeat Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Rotimi Amaechi who scored 235 and 316 respectively.[4] In December 2024, ECOWAS President Bola Tinubu clarifies the political will of ECOWAS leaders, towards the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States having expressed their desire to leave ECOWAS in January 2024, a reintegration remains possible, Tibubu, President of ECOWAS, explains that the planned exit of the three countries from the Alliance of Sahel States, is done in accordance with the populations of the three countries concerned.[5]
