The BYD e5 is a Compact electric car made by BYD from 2015 to 2020.
The BYD e5 was launched in 2015 in the Chinese market its based on the BYD Surui a gasoline model the car has a electric motor of 160 kW (210 hp) and a range of 220 km (137 mi) a version called BYD e5 300 was launched in 2016.[3] this version shares many característics with the BYD Qin EV300 and has a bigger range of 300 km.
The BYD e5 was sold mainly in China during its production run but due to incentives of the government on electric cars the e5 was exported to Latin America to be used as a taxi this includes Santiago the capital of Chile.[4] and Guayaquil Ecuador's largest city.
The production of the e5 ended in 2020 and was replaced by the BYD Qin EV.
