Ashlee Simpson (born October 3, 1984) is an American pop rock singer, songwriter, actress, and dancer. She is the younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson. Ashlee started dancing at the age of 4 and by the time she was 11 enjoyed the status of being the youngest person ever admitted to the prestigious School of American Ballet. In 1999, when she was 14 years old, she moved to Los Angeles with her family for her sister's career and instantly began her own career by working as a backup dancer for Jessica.

Ashlee's first album, Autobiography, was released in 2004. She also starred in her own reality series The Ashlee Simpson Show. Simpson was criticized when she used a pre-recorded vocal track for a performance on Saturday Night Live in October 2004.[2] Simpson released another album in 2005 called I Am Me. In May 2008, Ashlee married Pete Wentz, from the band Fall Out Boy. Their son, Bronx Mowgli, was born in November 2008.[3] In February 2011, Simpson-Wentz filed for divorce.[4] On October 29, 2020, she gave birth to another son named Ziggy Blu.[5]
