Architectural theory

Architectural discourse from the illustrated French Dictionary of Architecture (1856) by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc

Architectural theory is thinking, discussing, and writing about architecture. It is taught in schools dedicated to architecture.

It is practiced by the most well-known architects. Architecturial theory comes in different forms, such as a lecture or book. The theory is often designed to be taught. The theory has been popularized through books around 1968.[1][2]
