Anjum

Mohammed Iqbal Khan (born 7 March 1973), better known as Anjum Lucknowi, is an Indian poet and author in Urdu and Hindi language.[1][2]

Mohammed Iqbal Khan (born 7 March 1973), better known as Anjum Lucknowi, is an Indian poet and author in Urdu and Hindi language.[1][2]

Early Life and Education

Anjum was born as Mohammed Iqbal Khan in Fatehpur Tehsil, Dist Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, to Haleem Khan. He received his early schooling from Madrasa Alia Furqaniya, which included Urdu and Arabic.[3] In 1987, Anjum moved from Barabanki to Mumbai with his father. In the same year, he began studying poetry under Aish Kanwal in Kurla, Mumbai. He trained in poetry for about nineteen years under Kanwal’s guidance.[1]

Recognition and Awards

• Dr. Allama Iqbal Award (2017) – Awarded to Anjum Lucknowi for his contributions to Urdu literature, presented during the All India Mushaira at Mustaqim Inter College, Sultanpur.[4]

• Testimonial Award (2016) – Awarded by MLA Sunil Tatkare in recognition of his participation in the "Jashn-e-Mushaira" organized at Roha Ashtami Municipal Council. – Certificate

• Khushi Award (2024) – Presented to Anjum Lucknowi by Dr. Faizul Hussan at the Dargah of Sufi Majidul Al Hassan in recognition of his poetic excellence and contribution to Urdu literature.[5]
