3Blue1Brown is an educational YouTube channel. It was made by Grant Sanderson.[3] The channel teaches Higher Mathematics. It uses many visuals. It focuses on discovery and inquiry-based learning. Sanderson calls it "inventing math".[4]

Videos, podcasts and other media

3Blue1Brown videos show math visually. It discusses topics like number theory and topology. The videos also talk about applied topics, such as computer science and physics. The visuals are mostly made by Manim. Manim is a Python animation software. Manim was written by Sanderson. Sometimes, the visuals are drawn from other software. A common software used is macOS's Grapher application.[5]

The channel's videos have been shown in Popular Mechanics,[6][7][8] ABC News,[9] and Quanta Magazine.[10] Sanderson has been on numerous popular podcasts, including Numberphile,[11] Lex Fridman, the Art of Problem Solving,[12] Siraj Raval,[13] and Showmakers.[14][15]
