Paul William Walker IV (Glendale, Kalifornija, 12. rujna 1973. - Valencija, Kalifornija, 1. prosinca 2013.) bio je američki glumac. Postao je poznat nakon uloge u filmu Varsity Blues. Ipak, najveću popularnost stekao je ulogama u serijalu filmova Brzi i žestoki, a također je glumio i u filmovima Eight Below, Into the Blue, Lobanje i Ona je sve to.

Rođen je u Glendaleu u američkoj saveznoj državi Kalifornija, i odgajan u San Fernando Valleyu u Los Angelesu. Njegova majka Cheryl je bila model, a otac Paul Walker III se bavio vodoinstalacijama.[1][2]

Walker je irskog, engleskog i njemačkog porijekla.[3] Djed s očeve strane je bio profesionalni bokser - "Irish Billy Walker".[4] On je najstarije dijete svojih roditelja, a ima i dvojicu braće te dvije sestre. Odgajan je u hrišćanskom duhu, a završio je srednju školu "Village Christian School". [5][6]

Karijera

Njegova karijera je počela još dok je bio novorođenče u reklami za Pampers. Na TV-u je počeo raditi 1985. godine igravši uloge u sapunicama, te u reklami za "Showbizz Pizza".[7]

Filmsku karijeru je započeo 1986. horor-komedijom Čudovište iz ormara. Sa sestrom Ashlie je 1988. bio takmičar u jednom kvizu gdje je završio na drugom mjestu. Glumio je u nekoliko manjih filmova do 1999. kada se probio u filmovima Varsity Blues i Ona je sve to. Nakon toga je ostvario i sporednu ulogu u filmu Lobanje.

Ipak 2001. je dobio glavnu ulogu zajedno sa Vin Dieselom u filmu Brzi i žestoki koji je postigao veliki uspjeh. Nakon toga je postalo jasno da Walkera čekaju dobre stvari u budućnosti. 2003. je glumio u nastavku Prebrzi i prežestoki, a osim ovog serijala tu su i uloge u Joy Ride, Into the Blue sa Jessicom Albom, kao i sporedna uloga u Eastwoodovom filmu Flags of our Fathers.

Nakon toga je glumio u trileru Running Scared i u Eight Below 2006. godine. Eight Below je jako dobro prihvaćen od kritičara, a zaradio je 20 miliona dolara tokom prvog vikenda.[8]

Davidoff Cool Water je odabrao Walkera kao lice marketinške kampanje od jula 2011. godine.[9]

Walkerov Nissan Skyline

Vratio se u Brze i žestoke 2009. godine u četvrtom dijelu serijala[10], kao i u petom i šestom dijelu filma. Poginuo je 1. decembar 2013. u teškoj saobraćajnoj nesreći u 40. godini života. U tom trenutku još nije bilo u potpunosti dovršeno snimanje sedmog dijela Brzih i žestokih gdje se pojavljuje njegov lik; producenti su ga svejedno zadržali, koristeći za dotada nesnimljene scene CGI grafiku, posebne kuteve snimanja, odnosno kao dublere angažirali Walkerovu braću Caleba i Codyja koji su mu fizički slični. Dovršeni film je posvećen njegov uspomeni. Vin Diesel, njegov kolega sa snimanja Brzih i žestokih, je nedugo prije premijere upravo prema njemu nazvao svoju najmlađu kćer Paulette.

Lični život

Walker je živio u Santa Barbari u Kaliforniji sa svojim psima.[1][11] Imao je kćerku Meadow (rođenu 4. novembra 1998.) sa bivšom djevojkom Rebeccom.[12] Bio je privrženi surfer i uživao u plažama. Posjeduje smeđi pojas u brazilskom jiu-jitsuu.[13]

Njegova strast je bila i morska biologija, a idol mu je Jacques Cousteau. Ostvario je san kada se pridružio ekspediciji National Geographic Channela i bio dio ekipe koja je uhvatila sedam velikih ajkula na obalama Meksika.

U martu 2010. je otišao u Čile, u Constitucion kako bi punudio pomoć i podršku osobama povrijeđenim u zemljotresu koji je pogodio tu zemlju 27. februara. Išao je i u Haiti iste godine kako bi pomogao humanitarcima. Također je bio i automobilski entuzijast, a u filmu Prebrzi i prežestoki je vozio svoj automobil Nissan Skyline koji je lično prilagodio, te je sam vozio u nekoliko scena.
