Mary Midgley
Mary Beatrice Midgley (London, 13. 9. 1919. – ), britanska filozofkinja, spisateljica i profesorica. Rođena je kao kćer Toma i Lesley Scrutton, a mladost je provela u Cambridgeu odnosno londonskom Greenfordu i Ealingu. Studirala je na Koledžu Somerville pri Univerzitetu u Oxfordu i radila kao profesorica filozofije na Univerzitetu Newcastle od 1962. do 1980. godine. Napisala je petnaest knjiga na temu etike, filozofije nauke, etologije, evolucije i prava životinja, brojne naučne članke, a široj javnosti je poznata kao učesnica brojnih radijskih i televizijskih emisija. Godine 1950. udala se za Geoffreyja Midgleyja i rodila tri sina – Toma, Davida i Martina. Nagrađena je počasnim doktoratima od strane Univerziteta Durham i Univerziteta Newcastle.
