Klek

Klek je poluostrvo u Jadranskom moru koji pripada najvećim dijelom Bosni i Hercegovini, a manjim dijelom Hrvatskoj.

Poluostrvo Klek je dugo oko 6,5 kilometara i u prosjeku je široko 600 metara. Zajedno sa Neumom zatvara mali zaliv koji pripada Bosni i Hercegovini. Klek je okružen mnogobrojnim manjim ostrvcima, od kojih Veliki Školj i Mali Školj pripadaju BiH, mada ih Parlamentarna skupština Bosne i Hercegovine nikada nije verifikovala. U blizini se također nalazi veliko poluostrvo Pelješac koje je u cjelosti u vlasništvu Hrvatske.

Bosanskohercegovački dio ostrva Kleka se nalazi u općini Neum, a Dejtonskim sporazumom je pripao Federaciji Bosne i Hercegovine, odnosno Hercegovačko-neretvanskom kantonu.

Hrvatski dio Kleka pripada Dubrovačko-neretvanskoj županiji.

Historija

Poluostrvo Klek, kao i Neum, su pripadali srednjovjekovnoj Bosni a nakon toga Dubrovačkoj Republici sve dok 1718. godine kada je Požarevačkim mirom ustupila Osmanskom Carstvu. Klek, zajedno sa ostatkom Bosne i Hercegovine biva okupiran od Austro-Ugarske 1878. godine. Ulaskom BiH u Jugoslaviju ulazi i Klek i u Jugoslaviji ostaje sve do 1992. godine (osim u Drugom svjetskom ratu kada je pripadao Nezavisnoj Državi Hrvatskoj).

1991. godine, ocjepljenjem Republike Hrvatske od ostatka Jugoslavije, dio Kleka ulazi u njen sastav, a zatim 1992. godine, nezavisnošću Bosne i Hercegovine, drugi, veći dio poluostrva postaje dio BiH.
