Пугачёво — село в Макаровском городском округе Сахалинской области России[3], в 50 км от районного центра.

География

Находится на берегу реки Пугачёвки.

История

До 1945 года принадлежало японскому губернаторству Карафуто и называлось Ками-Магунтан (яп. 馬群潭)[4] (данное название имеет айнское происхождение).[5] Современное название дано по предложению рабочих и служащих местного рыбокомбината Указом Президиума ВС РСФСР от 15 октября 1947 года[6].

По переписи 2002 года население — 134 человека (75 мужчин, 59 женщин). Преобладающая национальность — русские (87 %)[2].
