Orthocladiinae (лат.) — подсемейство двукрылых семейства комаров-звонцов.

Описание

Окраска обычно бурая или чёрная, но встречаются комары окрашенные в белый жёлтый или зелёный цвет. Основные членики усиков без щетинок. Жгутик усика состоит из 13 сегментов. Глаза голые, редко в коротких или длинных волосках. Щупики 5-сегментные, но у ряда видов число члеников может уменьшатся до двух (Clunio, Tethymyia)[1]. У рода Rhinocladius имеются хорошо развитые ротовые части[2]. Среднеспинка выпуклая. Щиток с одним или двумя поперечными рядами щетинок. У большинства видов крылья прозрачные, но иногда они имеют бурую или чёрную пигментацию (например род Chasmatonotus). Жилкование крыла сильно варьирует в пределах подсемейства. Медиокубитальная жилка отсутствует. У двух родов Eretmoptera и Tethymyia жужжальца редуцированы. Голени тёмные часто с бледными кольцами. Пульвиллы на лапках отсутствуют, эмподий разветвлённый, коготки на концах грубенчатые или заострённые. Тергиты брюшка покрыты щетинками, которые могут располагаться разбросано или образовывать правильные ряды[1].

В составе подсемейства один из самых мелких представителей комаров-звонцов вид Corynoneura scutellata (0,81 мм)[3].

Экология

Личинки обитают в водоёмах и водотоках различного типа. Некоторые виды развиваются в наземных местообитаниях в переувлажнённой почве[4].

В мировой фауне на 2017 год насчитывалось 2432 вида[4], в следующих родах[1][4][5][6]:

Распространение

Представители подсемейства встречаются во всех зоогеографических областях, включая Антарктическую[1][4].

Палеонтология

Ископаемые представители подсемейства известны янтаря мелового периода в Ливана[5]. Возраст самых древних находок датируется 183 млн лет[23].
