Конец может означать:

  • Конец — завершённость чего-либо; предел, граница, край какого-либо объекта или события, а также его часть, примыкающая к этому пределу.
  • Конец — прави́льное (рулевое) весло, барочный руль, весло из целого бревна, для управления дощатником, баркою, плотом.
  • Конец — устаревшая единица территориального деления населённого пункта, охватывающая одну или несколько улиц (Людин конец, Неревский конец, ремесленный конец, рыбацкий конец). Как правило, такое деление возникало в небольших посёлках и городках и позже становилось тем или иным районом.

  • Бросательный конец — линь, служащий для подачи на причал (или с причала на судно) швартовых тросов, имеет на одном конце парусиновый, набитый песком и оплетённый сверху мешочек (грузик). В настоящее время обычно называется «выброской».
  • Коренной конец — условное название закреплённого или же неиспользуемого в работе конца троса.
  • Ходовой конец — условное название того конца троса, к которому приложена тяга, а также конца троса, непосредственно используемого (перемещаемого) при завязывании узла.
  • Швартовый конец (швартов) — трос, с помощью которого судно закрепляется у причала.
  • Буксирный конец — канат, при помощи которого судно буксируют буксиром.
  • Якорный конец (кабельтов) — канат, при помощи которого парусник крепили на якорной стоянке.
