Threshold, também conhecida no Brasil como Primeiro Contato é uma série americana produzida pela CBS, exibida pela primeira vez nos Estados Unidos em setembro de 2005. O tema gira em torno de criação de uma equipe governamental liderado pela doutora Molly Caffrey para conter uma potencial invasão alienígena. A série foi cancelada em novembro de 2005. A série foi exibida no Brasil pelos canais AXN e SBT.

Resumo

Uma sonda alienígena para em pleno mar da Coreia próximo a um navio mercante norte-americano, o Bighorn. A tripulação, afetada por um sinal estranho, morre, mas um pequeno grupo sobrevive. Mas não são humanos, são os convidados de uma poderosa raça alienígena que pretende "converter" a humanidade. Com uma força sobre-humana e mentalidade nova, as pessoas infectadas serão dedicados de corpo e alma para espalhar o sinal e infectar todo o planeta.

Ainda que não sja fácil, visto que o governo tenha preparado um plano para contê-los: o protocolo Threshold. Uma equipe de especialistas liderada pela Dra. Molly Caffrey (Carla Gugino) irá procurar, encontrar e capturar os infectados, frustrando os planos de expansão.

Juntamente com o conselheiro de Segurança Nacional J.T. Baylock (Charles S. Dutton) e agindo em segredo, a doutora Caffrey recruta o legista da NASA Nigel Fenway (Brent Spiner), o engenheiro aeroespacial Lucas Pegg (Rob Benedict) e o matemático e linguista Arthur Ramsey (Peter Dinklage). A equipe se completa com o agente especial Cavennaugh (Brian Van Holt), responsável pela segurança do grupo.
