11. sezon Ekstraligi polskiej w hokeju na lodzie został rozegrany na przełomie 1965 i 1966 roku. Był to 30. sezon rozgrywek o Mistrzostwo Polski w hokeju na lodzie. W rozgrywkach wzięło udział 10 zespołów. Mistrzem Polski został zespół Podhala Nowy Targ. Był to pierwszy tytuł mistrzowski w historii klubu.

Runda zasadnicza

W rozgrywkach za zwycięstwo klub otrzymywał dwa punkty, a za remis jeden punkt. Cztery najlepsze zespoły rundy zasadniczej awansowały do rundy finałowej.
