Turinabol (4-Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone), også kjent som Tbol eller Turanabol, er et anabolt steroid som ble utviklet i 1965 i Øst-Tyskland av Jenaparm GmbH. Det ble brukt med stor suksess av landets OL-utøvere i flere tiår.[1] Turinabol er et testosteronderivat i tablettform som er en krysning mellom Dianabol og Clostebol. I motsetning til Dianabol kan ikke Turinabol aromatisere til østrogen, og bivirkninger som gynekomasti og vannretensjon er utelukket. I forhold til Dianabol er Turinabol både mindre anabolt og mindre androgent og vil da gi mindre styrkeøkning, men man unngår potensielle androgene bivirkninger. Ettersom Turinabol er et lavandrogent AAS kan det brukes av damer uten viriliserende effekt gitt at dosene ikke er for høye. Turinabol har vist seg å redusere seksualhormobindende globulin (SHBG), hvilket gir mer fritt tilgjengelig testosteron.[2] Turinabol er C-17-alfa alkylert og da også giftig for leveren. Andre sannsynlige bivirkninger inkluderer forverret kolesterol og økt seksualdrift.
