Traguspiercing er en ørepiercing som går gjennom tragus i øret. Den er mest populær i Nord-Amerika og Europa.

Behandling

Utføring

Hullet lages med en tynn hul nål, man har en kork inne i øret, slik at nålen ikke går inn i ørekanalen. Kan også bruke en tang for å holde tragusen på plass mens man lager hullet.

Risiko

Denne piercingen fører ikke til noen skade på lyden inn i øret. Det er alltid risiko for infeksjoner og irritasjonsbevegelser ved piercing. Man ligger som oftest på øret om natten, selv om man prøver å unngå det. Dette kan føre til press som gir bevegelsesirritasjon, og kan forlenge grotiden.

Etterbehandling

Det er vanlig å blø i opptil en time etter at denne piercingen er tatt, men dette varierer fra person til person. Som oftest vil det komme litt blod av piercingen i en dag eller to. Det er anbefalt å vaske piercingen med saltvannsoppløsning. Ikke Pyrisept eller Klorhexidin, da dette kan være for kraftig for nysatte piercinger. Viktig å ikke leke med smykket i grotiden!

Smykke

Denne piercingen er svært fleksibel i valg av piercingsmykke. Alt fra ballukkingsring og rett barbell til labret kan brukes, og som oftest blir den gjort med nåler som er 1,2 eller 1,6mm tykk. Den kan også gjøres med litt tykkere nåler, alt etter hva anatomien til vedkommende tillater.
