Mexico–USA-grensen

Grensen strekker seg gjennom seks delstater i Mexico og fire delstater i USA. Der er mer enn 20 kommersielle jernbaneoverganger.
Til venstre byen San Diego i USA og til høyre byen Tijuana i Mexico.

Mexico–USA-grensen er riksgrensen mellom Mexico og USA. Den løper fra Mexicogulfen i øst til Stillehavet i vest. Grensen strekker seg gjennom seks delstater i Mexico og fire delstater i USA.

Mexico–USA-grensen er verdens mest passerte grense, og passeres av rundt 350 millioner personer i året.[1][2]

Den totale lengden av den kontinentale grensen er 3 201 km. Fra Mexicogolfen følger den løpet til elven Rio Grande (kalt Río Bravo del Norte i Mexico) til grensen krysser ved Ciudad Juárez i meksikanske Chihuahua og El Paso i amerikanske Texas; vestover fra El Paso-Juarez, den krysser store strekningene i Chihuahuan- og Sonoraørkenen til deltaområdet til Coloradoelven vestover til San Diego-Tijuana før den når Stillehavet.[3]
