Hamburg-Blankenese på Commons

Blankenese er en vestlig bydel i distriktet Altona i Hamburg. Det er et av de mest eksklusive områdene i Hamburg, og hører til de såkalte elveforstedene. Det ligger om lag sju kilometer vest for Altona og har jernbaneforbindelse med resten av byen. Opprinnelig var stedet en fiskerlandsby på nordsiden av Elben, som er på sitt bredeste her, 2,8 km. Navnet betyr «det hvite neset».

Adalbert av Bremen bygget sin bispebolig her i 1060, senere bygget også greven av Holstein sitt slott i Blankenese, og stedet var en uavhengig landsby i Holstein til 1927, da det ble slått sammen med Altona, som så i 1938 ble slått sammen med Hamburg. Bydelen har vel 13 000 innbyggere og et areal på 8.3 km². Den flotte utsikten over elven har ført til høye priser for eiendommer i bydelen.
