Ellos Group er en svensk netthandelsbedrift med hovedkontor og lager i Borås.

Historie

Ellos ble grunnlagt i 1947 av[1] Olle Blomqvis og Lars Gustavsson. Grunnleggerne ønsket å kalle bedriften for LO's på bakgrunn av sine navn. Men navnet ble ikke godkjent. De valgte da å skrive om navnet til Ellos. De første varene som ble solgt var håndkle i jutevev. I 1953 kom den første postordrekatalogen.[2] Ellos ble i 1960-årene Nordens største postordreselskap og etablerte seg senere i Norge i 1983. Senere utvidet Ellos seg til Finland (1987), Danmark (1995) og Estland (1996).

Bedriften ble i 1978 flyttet til sine nåværende lokaler i Viared, vest for Borås. I 1988 ble Ellos eid av svenske ICA-konsernet, men inngikk i 1997 i franske Redcats-Konsernet. Siden 2013 har Ellos Group vært eid av Nordic Capital, en PE-bedrift. Idag[når?] er Ellos Group en av Nordens største netthandelsbedrifter, med en omsetning i 2014 på 1,9 milliarder SEK og 800 ansatte.
