  - Den nearktiske sone
  - Den palearktiske sone
  - Den afrotropiske sone
  - Den indomalayiske sone
  - Den oseaniske sone (vises ikke)
  - Den australasiatiske sone
  - Den antarktiske sone (vises ikke)
  - Den neotropiske sone
Palearktis.

Den palearktiske sone (også kalt den palearktiske regionen, palearktisk faunaregion og Palearktis) er en økosone som omfatter Europa, nordlige Afrika, nordlige og sentrale deler av Den arabiske halvøy og Asia nord for Himalaya.[1]

Den holdes sammen ved en del karakteristiske dyregrupper, men har også store likhetstrekk med Nearktis, som omfatter Nord-Amerika. Disse to blir derfor ofte slått sammen til regionen Holarktis. Den palearktiske region grenser mot den afrotropiske region (Afrika sør for Sahara) og den indomalayiske sone (Sørøst-Asia).
